Reader of the Month: Mr. Ludwig Sly Ablaña

“Literature is a window and a mirror, because it allows us to see world differently from our point of view and at the same time it also allows us to see or know ourselves better”.—                                Mr. Ludwig Sly Ablana

Our Reader of the Month for February is a well-loved Grade 4 Reading and Language Teacher to both his students and colleagues. Mr. Ludwig Sly Ablana has been a regular library patron in both GS and HS libraries.

Being a full time teacher and a student of Literature in Cultural Studies, he says that his passion for reading has brought him where he is today. Despite his busy schedule, Mr. Ablana still finds time to read, be it in a bus ride going home or just any lazy afternoon.

Some of the first books he has read were The Boy who Ate Stars by Sarah Adams and Why there is Rain by Rene Villanueva.  In fact, during the first quarter Mr. Ablana volunteered to be our storyteller, and he shared his interpretation of the latter.  His favorite book is The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, but like most of his students he is also into graphic novels like Spiderman, Batman, Superman and X-men and popular titles like the Harry Potter series, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. At home, one can still see how much of a reader he is as he has a personal collection of Goosebumps and Pokemon.
